Lime and Cascade Bicycle Club Announce New Partnership
Lime unveils new in-app feature allowing users to add a small donation to support key Cascade Bicycle Club programs

SEATTLE – Aug. 23, 2018 – Today, Lime and Cascade Bicycle Club announced a new partnership which will encourage Seattle-area riders to opt into an in-app donation program. Users who opt into the program can donate a portion of their ride fare to the education programs of Cascade Bicycle Club, the nation's largest statewide bicycle nonprofit.

On the partnership, Cascade’s Executive Director Richard Smith said, “Cascade Bicycle Club is honored to be one of the first recipients of Lime’s in-app donation program. As an organization devoted to improving lives through bicycling, we’re excited to work with Lime to get more Washingtonians on bicycles.”

Gabriel Scheer, Lime’s Director of Strategic Initiatives said, “We are thrilled to partner with Cascade Bicycle Club. One of the primary reasons so many Seattleites can enjoy safe bicycle infrastructure today is because of Cascade’s longstanding work in the community. I urge Lime riders to contribute to this fantastic organization via the Lime app.”

Seattle is one of three cities selected for this initial pilot, Lime Hero, alongside Austin and Washington D.C. During the pilots, Lime will A/B test two donation options: a flat rate of 15 cents per ride, or a round-up method where the difference to the next dollar is donated. Eventually the program will be live in all of Lime’s markets across the country, each with a unique local partner.
