Join in the fun on the official end of summer Seattle ride: the Cascade Spawning Cycle, a true cycling celebration of all things Seattle! Our team has developed five fantastic urban loops to challenge riders of all ages, sizes and abilities.
New for 2007 we are proud partners with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of King County on this event. In addition to providing a positive and fun bicycle experience for youth in the program, we are giving riders the chance to raise money for this wonderful organization. Sign up today as an individual or team and win awesome prizes!
Fundraising is completely optional. If you wish to ride the event without fundraising for BBBS, simply register for the event and ride!
The Routes
Our main two beautiful urban routes are loosely based on the Pacific salmon spawning cycle. Starting at the salt water, riders work their way upstream, inland to the fresh water Lake Washington and then back to Sound via the fish ladder at Hiram M. Chittenden Locks and finally over and around the magnificent Magnolia Bluffs to the downtown waterfront. You must bring a camera along as the views are breathtaking all along the route! [more...]
All five routes start and finish at the Myrtle Edwards Park, so your friends and family can meet up for a terrific after-ride party and social event right on Seattle's best waterfront park! At the finish line we'll have a Bike Thrills & Skillz bike stunt course plus fabulous BBQ salmon burgers, Caesar salads and even our very own espresso bar! [more...]
This is THE ride to invite those friends and family members who balk at the idea of a long ride but might like to join you on something a little easier. The expanded 55-mile Copper River Special loop is certainly a great work-out, but with so many fun stops it makes for a spectacular day out for everyone in your crew. The new 8-mile Chinook Explorer route to the Locks and back is fun and doable by any level of cyclist.
