| Ride Description: |
| Are you planning on riding in your first STP or RSVP but aren't sure if you are "ready" to start training in the Cascade Training Series (CTS) or in the Daily Rides programs? Or are you trying to fulfill a New Year's Resolution to do more Daily Rides but aren't sure if you are ready to jump in and start riding with the Daily Rides? If either of these situations (or perhaps another one) describes you, then you may want to consider joining one or more of our Getting Ready Rides Series. This series will be held on 6 Saturdays starting a 11:30 am at various East Side locations.
We will hold our fourth Getting Ready to Ride event on Saturday 2 Mar 2013 which will leave from Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville (http://goo.gl/maps/IJr23) at 11:30 AM. Please park across the street from Gateway Park in the Woodinville Fields parking lot. Our fourth ride will be circa 22 miles and stay close to the Sammamish River over to Matthews Beach Park in Seattle. Rides will be conducted at two paces and you can select the pace that best fits for you - A Leisurely paced group (10-12 mph mph on the flats, aka The "Red" group in CTS) and a Steady paced group (12-14 mph on the flats aka the "Yellow" group in CTS). This is the posting for the Leisurely Paced Ride.
The route map is at http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1985006. Printed cue sheets will be available at the start and can be obtained electronically by Friday noon prior to the ride from the Ride Leader. Please plan to arrive by 11:15 so we can process the ride waiver, do equipment checks and discuss the route. We anticipate the ride will last 2.5 to 3 hours dependng on how the day goes. We will also discuss group interest in related skills for riding such as tire changing, the ABC checks for riding, simple bike upkeep, etc. Please consult the Cascade Bicycle Club Daily Rides web page for information for riders (http://cascade.org/EandR/rides_newcomer_instruction.cfm) as helmets are required for the ride. Scheduled ride dates are 9Feb, 16Feb, 23Feb, 2Mar and 16Mar. Each ride will have a different starting point as posted on the Cascade Daily Rides calender page (http://wwwcascade.org/EandR/Activities_Calendar.cfm?query=cascadefreedailyride) and under the Cascade Free Daily Rides subgroup of meetup.com (http://www.meetup.com/cascaderides/). |
