Join us for a 39-mile out-and-back ride from Centennial Fields Park in Snoqualmie to the end of the paved Middle Fork Snoqualmie Road at a steady pace of 12–14 MPH! With any luck, we'll get a break in the wet spring weather for some amazing views!
This route meanders along the quiet, gently climbing Middle Fork Snoqualmie Road with views to the peaks of the Western Cascades. Once a rugged dirt road, this has been paved up to our turnaround point. We'll pass numerous trailheads, including the infamous Mailbox Peak trailhead, as well as the Middle Fork Campground. After walking our bikes across a bridge at the end of the pavement, we'll take advantage of riverside picnic tables for our rest stop. We will proceed at our own pace on the Middle Fork Road, regrouping occasionally. Approximately 5 miles of the route is along the hard-packed dirt/gravel of the Snoqualmie Valley Trail, easily navigable by road bike.
Let's meet at the Centennial Fields Park at 10 am for our pre-ride safety briefing and immediate departure. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Restrooms and water are available at the start. There are multiple primitive restrooms available at trailheads along the route and at our rest stop at mile 20. PLEASE NOTE: There is no potable water between miles 6 and 36, so bring at least 2 bottles of water. Be sure to bring a picnic lunch as well as plenty of snacks.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. Because of the distance to the ride start in Snoqualmie, if ride is canceled, the Ride Leader will cancel ride by 7 am and will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
